On the way to deliver pickles to some of our Charleston accounts, we got a call from Wally Carey, owner of Patina Blu in Mt. Pleasant. He’d heard about our pickles from a friend and was happy to hear we had packed some extra cases in our trunk just in case. We were getting into town late, so even though his store wouldn’t be open… he agreed to meet us and check out our pickles!
I went inside and took a look around while Phin and Wally talked business outside. Patina Blu is a gem of a place with embroidered pillows, linens, frames, lamps, tableware, wall art, books ….but the best thing about this store (in my opinion) is the antiques! I was surprised at the prices….a big difference in the right direction from the stores I’ve drooled over in downtown Charleston.
Wally decided to stock his store with our pickled okra, beans, carrots, jalapenos, green tomatoes and cucumbers. I’m so happy to have a new location around Charleston selling Phickles ….and proud to be in such a great place. If you’re in the market for home décor in the Charleston area, Patina Blu is the place to go. And now, our Mt. Pleasant friends have a place close to home to purchase our pickles!
Wally, his wife Kelly (who is also an interior decorator,) and their two children moved to Charleston from New York and are fitting in just fine down south!
